Ingredients

  • 10 oz medium egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 10.5 oz cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 15 oz jar french onion dip
  • 1/2 cup french fried onions

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. Boil the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain well and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground chuck over medium-high heat until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks, 5–8 minutes.

  4. Drain any excess grease from the brown meat if needed.

  5. Add the black pepper and taste to see if salt is needed.

  6. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and the french onion dip until well combined with the beef.

  7. Fold in the cooked egg noodles gently and stir until evenly coated.

  8. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish generously with non-stick cooking spray.

  9. Pour the beef and noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread out evenly.

  10. Top evenly with the french fried onions.

If preparing this dish ahead of time to bake later, withhold the french fried onions until just before placing it in the oven so they stay crispy.

  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbling around the edges.

    Then 20 min of waiting
