Fermented Nettle Syrup Plant Food

Ingredients

  • Fresh stinging nettle leaves
  • Raw cane sugar (equal weight to nettle leaves)
  • Water (for diluting)

Method

  1. Pick stinging nettles and place them into a mixing bowl.

  2. Add an equal amount of raw cane sugar by weight.

  3. Bash the nettles and sugar together using a cocktail muddler.

  4. Pack the crushed mixture tightly into a glass jar and seal with a lid.

  5. Leave the jar to ferment in a cool spot.

    Then 7 min of waiting

  6. Strain the mixture, squeezing the syrup out using your hands into a clean jar.

  7. Dilute a small amount of the syrup in water using a watering can before feeding to plants.

  8. Inspired by Korean Natural Farming (KNF) fermented plant juice methods.

  9. The syrup can be stored sealed in a jar for several weeks.
