Ingredients

  • 400 g ground beef (or other protein or vegetable)
  • Fine salt (as needed)

Method

  1. Divide the 400 g ground beef into four equal 100 g portions in separate containers.

  2. Weigh salt to 0% (0 g), 0.5% (0.5 g), 1% (1.0 g), and 2% (2.0 g) of the weight of each portion.

  3. Season each portion with its designated amount of salt and mix thoroughly.

  4. Cook each portion in a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until fully cooked through, 3–5 minutes.

  5. Taste each portion side-by-side to compare the levels of seasoning and identify what undersalted, properly salted, and oversalted taste like.
